Too many monies though. Maybe next year.
Or I could go the LSA supercharger route, but then I need an adapter plate from rectangle to cathedral ports. And I would need to do a lot of messing around with the accessory belt. And the intake goes to the wrong side.

Why are superchargers so expensive? I was looking at one for my car and it was over $6k US.

You need a turbo.

Yeah, and I’m in Canada. ~8k. Not sure, maybe it’s because it’s a full kit?
I mean, an LSA would set me back $500-1000, then the adapter plates and accessory drive adapter would be another $5-700, then I still have to get an intercooler, get upgraded injectors and faff around with the intake since it’s on the wrong side. It would come out cheaper, but it would be a pain in the ass...

Don’t like turbo lag. Also, bigger PITA to pipe in, I’ve got little enough space as it is under the hood.
STS would be a thought though.

But “woosh” noises!
ETA: Hotrod Mag took a 4.8L and got 1200hp out of it with some big ol snails.

But “wheee’ noises!!
Yeah, and Truck Trend (iirc) got 1300 out of a 5.3—but those were both iron blocks, run on race fuel, at ~27psi. I’ve got an aluminum block that should be good for about 20psi on race fuel, but of course I’m not going to run more than 91 if I can help it. 93 maybe, but I’d have to carry a bottle of octane booster around just in case I get stuck somewhere where 91 is the only option...

I wonder if there’s an LS1 kit that would be cheaper, iirc the LS1 has the cathedral ports that would match up with mine.
Though of course I’m going totally by memory and could be talking out my ass.
